After two years of constant updates and festivals, the Grand Festival occurred! It was the biggest Splatfest in the popular video game Splatoon 3 and its entire franchise. A Splatfest is usually a two-day event where people can select a team from a given theme and battle it out in different categories. At the end of the event, the results are calculated, and the team with the most points wins!
Some categories contain more points than others (for example, the Tricolor category contains 180 points while the Pro category only has 120 points), making the event more intense. In this special Splatfest, players could celebrate in a fun-thrilled 72-hour Splatfest and party with idols/singers and friends while battling it out to win it all.
From the picture above, which is the most important to you? The past, present, or future? Let’s discuss it for (probably) the last time!
Let’s start off with the past. The past is ultimately the foundation of all things that are here in the present. Without the past, who knows what we would be doing today? Where would we be? How would we be doing things in the present? How did we reach the present? You don’t have to think of the country’s history and facts like that; the past can be personal. The day you were born, your first day in school, the fun things you’ve done, the incredible people you’ve met, and all those memorable things are aspects that all help form your past. It’s something no one else can go through; it’s your own story of life. However, you cannot go back and erase any memories, whether it be positive or negative. They will remain as stains forever. Some might be bigger than others. Ultimately, it is your journal of life, yours and only yours.
Next up is the present. Why should we ever stress about the past or future? The past might stress us out depending on what may have occurred in someone’s life. Some people don’t like to think about the past because of the harm it has caused them. Sometimes, it seems almost impossible to move on from things that are so detrimental to us.
Likewise, the future can stress us out solely because of the progressive things happening imminently. What can be years or decades away can feel like such a short amount of time for some who worries about what’s to come. This is why focusing on yourself at the current moment can be relaxing. The present is where so many things can be experienced. By simply thinking, you’re not necessarily enjoying those moments. The present is when you can finally act; it’s “go big or go home.” Unlike what I said discussing the past, the present is where you can write your life story.
The future can entail so much for a person. The desires and aspirations you have are included. Have you ever been asked by a teacher or friend about what something means to you? For example, I was asked by my English teacher, “What does success mean to you?” I thought about it and wrote some things down. But now that I reflect, I realize I was practically discussing my future. Getting a car, a house, staying economically stable, and other things I wrote down all play into my plan for the future. My future is different from yours, the reader. Your dreams for what you want to do when you earn success, personal journey, etc, can be different from those of your family members, relatives, friends, and so forth. We are not guaranteed what is to come, but our motivations drive us to continue dreaming.
I went with Team Past for this event. The Past is so important to me for various reasons, positively and negatively. It defines my character and who I am. Not only that, I feel like without the past, we can’t have a present era, and without the present, there’s no future to believe in. That’s just me, though; you are welcome to disagree. I’m glad I chose the team I did because Team Past reigned victoriously in the end! Although the end of this game is bittersweet, it is nice to appreciate all the developers who worked very hard for the success of this game. Thank you, Splatoon 3!
