traveled with the USA Basketball men’s and women’s team for a Pre-Olympic Tour before the Olympics in London. There was a group of 12 performers including cheerleaders, tumblers, and dancers. We traveled to Manchester City, England first where we performed at two games against Great Britain. In Manchester City, we were able to take a tour of Manchester United’s soccer stadium where we were able to see the locker rooms, player’s jerseys, and the amazing field. We also traveled around the city visiting very old historic churches, buildings, and other famous sites. We ate amazing tapas from Italy, Spain, and many other countries. After England, four of us flew with the men’s team to Barcelona Spain where we stayed in a hotel looking right over the water. We had beautiful weather in a beautiful city. Each day we could walk the boardwalk and swim in the water. In Barcelona we performed for the men’s games against Argentina and the big game against our rival Spain. The arena was packed each night with fans and performers. The USA team was able to win all the games we were at and both teams were eventually able to win the Gold Medal in the Olympics as well. In Spain we got to do some site seeing and see the famous Temple expiatori de la Sagrada Familia which is a church that has been under construction for over 100 years. It was an amazing experience filled with beautiful venues, great basketball, and great friends.
