Even if you slept through all of the Black Friday deals, it’s not too late to buy gifts for all the people on your list.
When deciding on what to buy for someone it’s very important to consider their interests. Let’s say your friend really loves music, in that case a CD or iTunes gift card would probably be your best bet. FYE and Hot Topic both have fairly large selections of CDs, and you can buy iTunes gift cards in the Apple store, Best Buy, and even some grocery stores.
Now let’s say you have a cousin who really loves art. Stores such as Michael’s and A.C Moore contain almost any kind of artistic tool or material from water colors to clay. Although, you might find that the items in A.C Moore are cheaper than those in Michael’s. Barnes and Noble also has a decent amount of art supplies, but it’s limited to sketching materials. However, they are of good quality.
A gift for someone who loves fashion? Stores like Forever 21 have loads of clothes and accessories for girls of high school age, since most of the things within the store are fun and colorful. Also, most of the items are fairly priced. However, if you wanted to buy a gift for your mother, aunt, older sister etc. this might not be the store for you. Try Macy’s, JCPenny, Express, H&M, or New York & Company. The stores previously mentioned sell high quality clothing at good prices.
Now, you have to buy a gift for someone who loves sports. Dick’s Sporting Goods and Modell’s have jerseys, equipment, footwear and camping gear.
If you’re friends with a book lover (and you should be), then Barnes and Noble is the obvious choice. They have a great selection but the books are often more costly than they should be. A good alternative would be the Bargain Book Warehouse, which there are two of here in Cherry Hill. If you have a specific book in mind then skip the browsing and buy it online from Amazon. They have pretty much any and every book you could want and they’re usually pretty cheap. They also ship very quickly, so no need to worry.
There’s always that one person who is impossible to buy a gift for. Don’t stress, gift cards are great to receive…even if you feel bad for not putting in more effort. Try and listen to see if they mention any stores they like. If not you can’t really go wrong with an AMC Theaters gift card. Now, let’s say that you’re friends with the one person in the world who really hates movies. You might want to look into purchasing a Visa gift card, which allows the recipient to buy whatever, wherever they like. If all else fails, remember: no one hates getting cash during the holidays.
Worst-case-scenario you have little to no money; it’s not the end of the world. You can find really fun gifts and toys at Five Below for $5 and less (obviously). You can find toy swords, posters, candy, crazy socks, and many more random items. If you just can’t scrape together the cash to buy any of those things, then try baking cookies or brownies for your friends and family. They’ll love it and if you have the necessary ingredients in your kitchen it won’t cost you a thing. Also, you can never go wrong with a hand drawn picture or a heartfelt card, it is after all a sentimental time.
Good luck!
