Last year DECA broke all kinds of records with the numbers of students qualifying for the International and the State Competition. Of the ten students who attended the International Competition, Julia Lanuez (graduated last year) was a finalist for her role play in Human Resource Management.
The other members also had a successful experience with Brandon Zachary and Ethan Catillo (currently seniors) attending the leadership conference. The Leadership conference is designed to develop great skills a future business leader will need for the future. They brought these skills back to the DECA program this year, so we expect even greater success this year. “The leadership conference was a great experience that really helped Ethan and I learn how to help our chapter be better than ever,” says senior Brandon Zachary, “the whole chapter has high expectations for an outstanding year. We are all excited and looking forward to the competitions this year.”
Not only was the leadership conference a huge success, the whole California experience was equally great. Kayla Broyles (current senior) had this to say about ICDC, “I am so happy I was able to attend the International Competition in California this past year. It was great to meet so many people from all around the US and the globe at the conference. ” There are a plethora of DECA categories in which to compete such as, Automotive Service Marketing, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, and Apparel and Accessories Marketing. You are sure to find a category that interests you and excites you about competing and representing your school and state.”
