For the first time in 14 years, the Eagles’ football team beat the Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch on November 20th with a score of 21-17! Here’s a brief breakdown of the game.
While the end result was successful, the beginning was quite bumpy for the Eagles. During the first quarter, both teams had scored seven points, but in the 2nd quarter, the Chiefs had gotten quite a lead after they got a touchdown plus a field goal kick, making the score 7-17.
Many people behind the screen and in live streams were beginning to get quite frustrated. However, Jalen Hurts made an incredible comeback with two touchdowns, one being a Brotherly Shove, and finished the game 21-17. It was a shocking comeback from the Eagles. Many people lost hope after the first two quarters, but their hopes were rekindled by the touchdowns!
However, while the Eagles did win, they didn’t play their best game, according to the NFL. The statistics shown in the image above blatantly demonstrate that the Eagles did less work than the Chiefs during the game. The Chiefs had more total yards, passing and rushing yards, fewer punts, first downs, and more plays during the game. But it is also significant to note that the Eagles were strong in a few things. They had five sacks during the game, no fumbles, and their defense did amazing that game! It was a good game for the defensive team and Sean Desai, the defensive coordinator. But the offensive coordinator, Brian Johnson, might need to improve slightly. Many people were unhappy with his performance, which is crucial; he must improve, or he will continue to receive more and more hate, leading to more pressure and stress upon the Eagles football team.
The only reason the Eagles won the rematch was because the Chiefs kept making silly mistakes that cost them the game, mainly from the offense. But once the Chiefs learn from their mistakes, the Eagles will struggle much more.
However, the Eagles have gone up against challenging teams. They’ve gone up against the Bills, the Chiefs, the Dolphins, the Cowboys, the 49ers, and the Cowboys again. So, does this win, in particular, make the Eagles the best in the league? In reality, it all depends. Sometimes, the coordinators might make good play calls, which may lead to wins, and sometimes, there might be lousy play calls, which might cause the team to punt, fumble, or get intercepted. It all depends on the coordinators’ calls and the players’ execution. They might not be the best, but they definitely are one of the best. So, fellow Eagles fans, let’s stay optimistic and support our Eagles all the way!
