As part of our beloved Cherry Hill High School West’s Spirit Week, no event is more noble than our annual Lip Sync competition. The classes of 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028 took center stage and showed off their attempts to shine based on their themes.
The theme for the Class of 2025 was Candyland. Seniors dressed up as signature candy bars to honor the iconic board game. They performed numerous musical numbers to honor their respective candy bars.
The theme for the Class of 2026 was Life. With an excellent soundtrack from the albums of Michael Jackson, they put together several excellent dance numbers. A combined theme for the Juniors was wearing black outfits and choreography with Jackson’s music, particularly from his Thriller album.
The Class of 2027’s performance was themed after the famous movie intros of the James Bond films, with his signature opening music and catchphrases being used. Throughout the choreography and dance sequences, many of Bond’s signature moves from the iconic action films were conducted by several West sophomores. In addition, the Class of 2028 hosted a similar musical number to the juniors, also using a mix of Michael Jackson songs, with his Thriller album.
After an enjoyable night with several enjoyable performances from all four classes, the Junior Class was announced as the winner. Many people believed that the Class of 2026 deserved to win. However, there was a mix of the other competitive classes, particularly the Seniors and Sophomores. Soon enough, they began calling for a competitive rematch. One has been scheduled to take place at some point in the Spring of 2025. This Lip Sync Competition was certainly a memorable one, though it might not be over just yet.
